FRÉDÉRIC CHOPIN was a divine composer/pianist and genius prodigy of the Romantic era.
Few can hear his compositions without feeling the depth of their emotion and expression - as well as their special complexity. He was a true innovator of his generation (and beyond).
As found in the "Chopin Complete Edition" CD Booklet (Piano Concertos - Works for Piano and Orchestra, including Krystian Zimerman, Claudio Arrau, and Stefan Askenase) we read: "Throughout his life Chopin extended the technical and expressive possibilities of the piano. Concentrating his genius on just one instrument, he created an unparalleled range of beautiful sounds and emotions."
We also read that "most of his works are delicate creations, illustrative and tinged with melancholy, highly personal in their harmonic coloring, and richly ornamented." and that he largely composed all his works for piano and orchestra between 1827 and 1830.
His music remains unpredictable and takes the listener to new heights and depths of sound, while forming divinely inspired experiences in the one who takes the time to immerse within.
"By a strong effort of your will, you can, if you choose, COMPEL certain harmonies to sound in your ears—fragments of what is common breathing air to the Children of the Ring—and you will be able to reproduce them in part, if not in entirety. But if you once admit a thought of Self to enter your brain, those aerial sounds will be silenced instantly. By this means, too, you can judge who are the true disciples of music in this world—those who, like Schubert and Chopin, suffered the heaven-born melodies to descend THROUGH them as though they were mere conductors of sound; or those who, feebly imitating other composers, measure out crotchets and quavers by rule and line, and flood the world with inane and perishable, and therefore useless, productions." - Marie Corelli, A Romance of Two Worlds
